Steve Gulley has started a new chapter in his music career by announcing the formation of his own band, Steve Gulley & New Pinnacle. "After a lifetime of living and breathing bluegrass music, I feel like it's finally time to spread my wings a little bit and put my name and stamp on something that totally reflects my personality and musical passion. I've been so blessed to have gotten to travel and perform with some of the finest musicians and people in the world and have helped to create some music of which I'm so proud to have been a part. Hopefully, after so many years of traveling the world performing, folks know what I do and will want to hear the music I'll make with the new band,"

Steve Gulley certainly does not need any introduction to the Bluegrass community with accomplishments that include being a member of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver (1994 - 1996), a founding member of Mountain Heart (1998 - 2006), a founding member of Grasstowne (2006 - 2011), and sixteen years as a featured performer, staff musician, musical director, studio manager and producer at Renfro Valley, KY.  Steve is a winner of 4 IBMA Awards including Co-writer of the 2008 Song of The Year, “Through The Window Of A Train”, by Blue Highway as well as being a multiple SPBGMA award winner including 2008 Album Of The Year, The Road Headin' Home, by Grasstowne.

After the tremendous success of the self-titled debut album from March 2015 on Rural Rhythm Records, Steve Gulley & New Pinnacle released their sophomore recording, Aim High, which is riding high to say the least! Aim High features three Gulley co-written songs including two with the award-winning Tim Stafford.  “Deceitful Kind”, “Love Brings You Home” and “Short Life Full of Trouble” were co-written with Larry Shell and Kim Williams.  Carl Jackson also lends his songwriting talent to three songs on Aim High in addition to great songwriters such Larry Cordle, Jim Rushing, Sonya Isaacs, Becky Buller, Keith Sewell, and more.  On October 20, 2017, Steve and the band will be releasing their third recording for Rural Rhythm Records,Time Won’t Wait, which features the first radio single, “Drowned in Sorrow”, co-written by Steve and Tim Stafford.

Steve is considered a stalwart of the very top echelon of lead and tenor singers in the bluegrass business as well as being a gifted songwriter and guitarist. With his band, New Pinnacle, Steve Gulley has taken off and is soaring to new heights!
